This auction is for two bones full of family photographs and other family history items from the Bauer family of Zanesville, Ohio. The Bauers were a German immigrant family who settled in West Virginia to practice their trade as potters in the 1800s. They relocated to Ohio in the 1920s when Muskingum County was the center of American pottery. Most members of this family worked for local potter it's like Hull and McCoy as modelers and painters, and they also opened Bauer Pottery from their homestead, where they built a 30 foot tall kiln and ran a large workshop. They were also a very musical family and enjoyed playing instruments including guitar, mandolin, harmonica, the full sized pipe organ that was installed in their home, Violin, piano, etc. All of these activities are documented here, along much more: a cross-country trip in the late 1930's; family pets, including a comical trained terrier; vintage scenes of baseball parks and national momuments; scenes featuring one of the sons during his service in WWII; and much more! There are mementos from the Regan Presidential Library, a postcard of the "New Horseshoe Stadium" At Ohio State dated 1924, unwritten early postcards from Belgium and Germany, newspaper clippings about the pottery factory throughout the years, even a letter from Lawrence Welk.I acquired this collection after
