You are bidding on the highly collectible "Daily Use" case , made by the venerable (and sadly now defunct) Pipe Dan Shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. This vase features four Dan pipes in excellent condition, as well as the "Library Time" bamboo extension, which enables making one of the pipes into a churchwarden style. The complete case dates back 40 years to 1966, as two of the pipes have that nomenclature on them. They are all stamped "Shape-Reformed" and Denmark. Those who know this pipemaker all realize that Dan Pipes are among the best designed, as well as coolest smoking, pipes in the world.The After Breakfast pipe is a small Standard--except that is a rare "sitter". It is the only such pipe I have seen in the Dan collection. The After Lunch pipe is also a Standard, slightly more robust than the AB pipe. Both pipes are smooth and tan in color. The Four O'Clock is a remarkable mahogany-colored Classic Danish Full Bent shape, with a distinctive flourish at the base of the bowl. The size of the pipes are shown in the pictres. The After Dinner pipe is the lovely "Danois" shape. Mahogany in color. It is this pipe that fits the Library extension.
