This antique silver bracelet is missing the inlay on the left, and the braceletis damaged w that inlay had been. It comes with its original case, which is numbered 472643 on the back. The bracelet was brought back from Europe to Exeter , New Hampshire by the painter Elizabeth Gardner Bougereau . She had been the student and mistress of the famous painter William Bougereau , whom she finally married late in their lives. The couple honeymooned in Italy in 1896, and this is probably from that trip. The artist was the seller's great-great-great aunt. She was born in the family home in the center of Exeter , which the seller's family occupied until 2000. First on the left and second from the right are scenes from St Mark's Campanile, the bell tower of St Mark's Basilica in Venice , located in the square (piazza) of the same name. It is a recognizable symbol of the city.The campanile reached its present form in 1514 . As it stands today, however, the tower is a reconstruction, completed in 1912 after the collapse of 1902. The campanile shown is probably from its first incarnation, since the honeymoon was six year's before the collapse of the campanile. Second from left is the Piazzetta San Marco .
