's a neat old razor I bought the other day. It is a Tidioute, made in Tidioute,PA. This is a rare barnd as the company was only in business for a few short years until 1902 when Union bought them out. Union was the company that made Kabar, as well as a host of other marketing brands. In the 10s of thousands of knives and razors I have bought and sold in 35 years, I have only had a few Tidioute knives and razors. This razor has a great set of handles with a very detailed lady (probably Vicorian or French influence) with hair the runs the whole length. They are in great shape with no chips or cracks. The handles are little over 5 1/2" long. The blade is 5 5/8" long. The blade stamp is very heavy and nice. The blade has probably been used but shows no evidence of this or any sharpening. The reason I think it was used is that it came with no box. An unused razor would have the box. T is no evidence or rusting but t is some stianing and a little "peppering". This razor is uncleaned and unpolished. A great old razor with very fancy handles and a rare stamp that would compliment any vintage razor collection....or if you collect Tidioute stuff, you will have the rare chance to expand your collection by one more....and not pay $$$$. NO RESERVE!! Please check out my other auctions as I am gald to combine shipping.
