DESCRIPTION: Y ou are looking at an exceptional U.S. WWII 17th Airborne Ike Jacket with original 17th Airborne British-made gold bullion on felt patch . The jacket is unnamed 38 Regular, June 9, 1944 dated. It was manufactured by David Rosenthal Company and has the original manufacturers label in the pocket. Overall, the jacket is in exceptional condition with five to seven small moth nips, total on front and back. It has a Belgium fourragere lanyard, pinback U.S. and infantry collar discs with old-style steel pin-clamps, not the typical clutch fasteners. The wing is sterling-marked, pinbacked, with jump star affixed to the center and soldered on back. The remnant of the star's pin is slightly protruding. Overall it has a solid patina to the wings front and back. The ribbon bar is pin-back with ribbons sewn with thread across the back. It contains a purple heart with oak leaf cluster and an ENAME ribbon with two campaign stars. The CID is sterling clutch-back marked as sterling. The clutch fasteners are sterling silver and so-marked. The expert marksmanship badge is pin-backed and nicely marked with A.E.Co. Utica, NY in a triangle, with bar or machine gun. Rank insignia are embroidered on felt and are sewn on with machine. The ruptured duck insignia is BEVO style, crudely machine sewn-on. The bullion 17th Airborne patch is hand sewn-on with what appears to be black cotton thread. The bullion patch is made in a classic British style with gold wire bullion on black wool felt. The gold has a nice patina to it and has no damage or pulling of the bullion wire. I have had the jacket three and do not have the name of the original owner. T are no laundry marks in it. Those of you looking for airborne parachute, glider, 17 th , 82 nd , 101 st and any parachute infantry regiment stuff, this will fit the bill. I have been collecting 17 th airborne items and will be focusing on only 139 th AEB/17 th Airborne items. I'm trying to specialize more and fund the purchase of a modified T5 harness and a few other items. You will begin seeing some of my 17 th items on eBay , occasionally, until the collection is refocused. I will list some garrison caps, cap patches, groupings,, medals, and Ike jackets along with some small 17 th Airborne Division items. For those of you looking for 507 th 513 th , parachute regiment, glider regiment and such items you will have an opportunity to bid as I begin to list. PAYMENT: I will accept a money order, personal check from anyone with an ebay ID card greater than 25, or Pay Pal. For international payment I will only accept Pay Pal. I no longer accept Wes tern Un ion. POSTAGE : I will mail anyw in the continental US via priority mail for $12.00. That includes $0.85 for tracking. For items over $100.00 you must use insurance at the standard postal service rates. The tracking is the verification that the item was sent. If it does not arrive you will need to open an inquiry with the postal service. If you requested insurance you can resolve that with them as well. Please read the USPS insurance and claim details as they do not cover everything. International postage will be higher and I will not devalue the item by indicating a lesser value on the customs declaration. If you want insurance you must arrange prior to shipping. PACKAGING : I will package the item to ensure that no damage happened during shipping. I typically use bubble wrap and peanut filler in a larger box if the item is subject to damage in transient. For bendable items such as documents and photos I will use a sturdy envelope with cardboard liner on each side to prevent damage, or I will use a priority mailing box. For patches without bullion I will put it in an envelope with cardboard to prevent bending. RETURNS: I will allow a return for any reason provided the item is sent back and the item is received within 14 days of postmark from my address.
