DESCRIPTION: Y ou are looking at an exceptional U.S. WWII 17th Airborne Ike Jacket with original 17th Airborne British-made gold bullion on felt patch . The jacket is unnamed 38 Regular, June 9, 1944 dated. It was manufactured by David Rosenthal Company and has the original manufacturers label in the pocket. Overall, the jacket is in exceptional condition with five to seven small moth nips, total on front and back. It has a Belgium fourragere lanyard, pinback U.S. and infantry collar discs with old-style steel pin-clamps, not the typical clutch fasteners. The wing is sterling-marked, pinbacked, with jump star affixed to the center and soldered on back. The remnant of the star's pin is slightly protruding. Overall it has a solid patina to the wings front and back. The ribbon bar is pin-back with ribbons sewn with thread across the back. It contains a purple heart with oak leaf cluster and an ENAME ribbon with two campaign stars. The CID is sterling clutch-back marked as sterling. The clutch fasteners are sterling silver and so-marked. The expert marksmanship badge is pin-backed and nicely marked with A.E.Co. Utica, NY in a triangle, with bar or machine gun.
