FANTASTIC ARTS AND CRAFTS DRUGGET-STYLE RUG
This vintage ARTS AND CRAFTS DRUGGET STYLE rug is a wonderful example of the design and craftsmanship of a bygone era. The rug, with a beautiful, all over geometric pattern in two shades of a taupe / grey, is in good to fair condition. It measures approx. 10âe(tm) 8âe by 8âe(tm) 5âe. It is believed to be machine made and probably from the 1920âe(tm)s. CONDITION: I try to describe as accurately as possible to avoid any disappointment by the buyer. Bear in mind that this rug is approximately 80 years old and naturally shows wear. The rug has recently had an over-all professional cleaning. It also has had a new fringe added to both ends in the period style. (see photos) T is minor fraying on either side. The rug could be bound on the sides, but I will leave that up to the buyer to decide. The pile is generally even, with the exception of a worn area (see photos) T is a rust stain at one end of the rug, and other more subtle discolorations throughout. These areas could be addressed with spot cleaning by a professional, and again, I will leave that for the buyer to decide. These are condition issues to be expected in a vintage rug.
