I've collected marbles for what seems like forever, well, since I was shooting them on the playgrounds in Akron w i grew up in the late 50's and 60's. These are in a really nice looking wooden cigar box, stuffed with at least 400 marbles, probably a good bit more, I didn't count them, but it weighs over 6 pounds. It is the other of the pair of cigar boxes I got in Akron at an elderly man's estate sale years back. I never actually sorted thru them for some reason to pick any out. Looking now when I took the pictures, I see a bunch of oldies; oxbloods, popeyes or corkscrews, and lot of agates, ribbons, swirls, patches and catseyes ( the really nice older ones, for sure a few Peltier Banana's and later ones), some old clay ones, a dozen or so. T are Marble Kings, Akro's, Peltiers, probably some Christenson's, but I don't know enough about to tell for sure. This one is definitely loaded with ones you'll spend a while looking and sorting thru!!! Looks a lot like some of my personal collection I'll be passing on to the grandkids someday, though they already are well started on their own. Well, have fun looking and hopefully bidding!! Oh, the picture with the 20 or so was from a handful I picked up and then sorted thru to get those, just to give a idea as to how good this bunch is!!
