Item description : Fantastic absolutely rare museum piece Large and very rare Balloon Clock with visible Brocot escapement made in France about 1870 completely in original condition ! This absolutely beautiful French Chimney clock is in excellent condition. Look at the auction pictures, you can see what a fantastic Clock you get. We think you will be overhelmed, when you see this Clock. It´s very very hard to find such a balloon clock with visible Brocot escapement and you can be sure that this clock is an absolutely high worth collecting piece !! Such a rare mantel clock you will never get again. You can´t put your eyes from this clock when it becomes a part of your exclusive home. The complete clock is in fantastic nearly perfect original condition !! The wooden balloon shaped case is in fantastic condition. The case is made of massive nut wood and nut wood veneer. The front under the dial has an inlay of root wood. At the back side is a small tension crack above the brass door. This is typical for the age of more than 130 years and not a reduction of the high worth. You can see this at the detailled pictures and you otherwise can see that the case is in fantastic condition. Behind a lynet with facet cut glass you see the original dial in very good condition. A small hairline at the left winding hole ( you see this at the detailled pictures ) is the normal wear of age. In the centre from the dial you see the fantastic Brocot escapement with ruby pallets working. It´s a fantastic sight to watch the clock working. You can´t put your eyes from this balloon clock !! The original movement is comletely cleaned and revised by our master clockmaker. It is stamped with "Samuel Marti", looks now like new and works perfect with the old pendulum. It also chimes perfect the half and the full hours ( full hours will be counted ) on the original silver-bronze bell. We can give a warranty of 3 years for the movement. The movement is covered by a brass door. A key belongs to the clock. Such a absolutely rare balloon mantel clock with visible Brocot escapement about 1870 is the right investment with constantly rising worth !!!!
