For restoration is this very old leather and brass bound travelling steamer trunk. Brass and iron studding and banding is largely intact (one piece missing to back) and in good order but the trunk has suffered from worm attack and some leather loss to the back. see pictures. The leather is also tooled so this was an expensive piece of luggage in its day. Leather straps and buckles are there one strap retainer is missing and handles to sides are also intact. Fantastic brass swivel escutcheon to front. The interior is lined with paper and has secret compartment to top which opens by means of brass catches. Looks like it once had a tray inside but this has long gone. In the right hands this would make a super restoration project and well worth the effort.
