This is one of the finest untouched Magic Lantern slide collection's I have seen in quite sometime. You are buying the entire grouping of 22 Early Wood framed slides made by T.H.McAllister. These slides came directly from a lady who's Great,Great grandfather actually owned these. The slides are in the original dove-tailed box made by McAllister and have gone virtually untouched in decades. What is remarkable about these examples is their condition and the subject matter. There are 10 GORGEOUS Civil War slides,two early & rare New York Fire department views, Two George Washington's & Patriotic slides along with the twin examples of a wicked life! In addition there are some stunning hand painted Windsor Castle and English countryside scene examples. The Civil War slides are superb in every sense of the word. They include Lee & Grant surrender,Battle of Fredericksburg, Life of General Grant~A rather lanky and indomitable Ulysses,Gettysburg battle scene,Wife praying for Soldier's return, 36 star American Flag; (1865-67), Yankee dreaming of going home... AND MUCH MORE...It's funny seeing how the artist always depicted the Confederates being over-whelmingly slaughtered in each view. The slides measure 4" x 7" inches and have the McAllister imprint. There is one duplicate which is a slight variation of a church in England. I have pictured all twenty-two slides.You will not be disappointed. Thank you for your interest and consideration.
