is a very large cased glass cut and polished Bohemian vase. The vase is a very large 15 inches high and weighs over 5 pounds. The clear stem is cased with white and has Hand Painted flowers. None of the hand painted flowers are the same and t are many different kinds.T are over 70 different individual flower paintings in shades of pink, blue, green, white and cranberry. T are many different shapes of cutting through the White casing into the clear base glass. These are all outlined in hand painted Gold. Some areas of the gold show signs of wear especially around the top and high point ares. This vase is perfect except for a crack in the base. At some point a hole was drilled in the base, probably to make it into a lamp, and the crack starts at the hole. A very clean crack that runs around the base about 2 / 3rds the way, You can see it in the last picture if you look closely. The vase still has a good ring to it when tapped Does not have that flat hollow sound usually heard when a crack is present. The glass is very thick and the crack has not affected the integrity of the vase.The base is polished and shows age scratching on the bottom. This is the finest one of its kind i have ever seen. The perspectives are interesting like a kaleidescope when you look through the vase into the opposite side. It is heavy solid . We have had it for 20 years and have plugged the hole on many occasions and filled it with water and used it for flowers and the crack has never grown through much use and many washings. In the past few years we have has a silk flower arrangement inside. The crack only shows from one side and is not very apparent unless pointed out. The Glass is very thick and I am confident the crack will never grow. The vase shows beautifully and Would look very elegant with any decor.
