A great old photo album of a road trip to the National Parks of the United States..... Front page "Westward HO" ( Herb and O l - the two men that took this trip)....with a picture of car and trailer...."Camp on Mt. Nimbus, Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park Colorado 8-17-47"... Over 40 pages ( with 6 photo snapshots on each page) of each of the National Parks visited on this road trip. The gentleman ( original owner of the album...now deceased) had been a commercial artist and photographer.... and the composition of the scrapbook-photo album..is a testament to his great presentation of the photos taken. The lettering is superb on his captions and titles....as are the black and white photos. This photo journey starts with photos of roadside parks in Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska...... ~ and onward to National Parks: Estes Park, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park, Dinosaur National Monument, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon and other areas in Arizona ( some great old photos of Jerome, Jacob Lake, Vermillion Cliffs, Globe and others), California - Hollywood, LA suburbs, Long Beach, Berverly Hills,Santa Monica, Westwood shopping center, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Eureka, redwoods, Crater Lake( Oregon), Idaho, Nevada- Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas...and homeward bound through Northwestern Arizona, New Mexico..back up thru Colorado -and the Royal Gorge & Arkansas River and Canon City...and lastly photos of Ohio and the camping on the islands of Lake Erie- ferry, Cedar Inn, fishing and boating. The photos are in the original photo album with a leather ( or leather-look) front and back cover.....album measures 16 inches wide by 10-7/8 inches high by about 1-1/4 inches thick. Each page is a wonderful history of the areas stated above. My photos just don't do the album justice.....I believe the winning bidder will be pleasantly surprised with "all" of this album !!! *** Please check out my other auctions and vintage photos from the same estate listed at this time ...
