This auction is for a copy of The Fantasite Vol. 2, No. 2 (whole number 8), May/June 1942, edited and published by Phil Bronson as the “Official Organ of the Minneapolis Fantasy Society.” Its 28 pages are neatly mimeographed, and this copy is in very good condition. Contributors include Louis C. Smith (“Fantasiana,” a column about recent fanzines and prozines), John Chapman (“Forgotten Mysteries,” an article about how reality is often “close at the heels of science fiction, and vice-versa”), Joe Gilbert and Harry Jenkins (“Among the Hams and Pros,” a regular column about recent prozines and fanzines), T. Bruce Yerke (“The Tale of the Hooten,” about an imaginary people who lived “in the flats of New Jersey” in ancient times), Forrest J Ackerman (“Exclusion Act #2!”, a tongue in cheek account of happenings at the second World Science Fiction Convention, the Chicon, in 1940), John Reitrof (“Hell Fire,” commentary concerning various recent fanzines and their producers), and a long letter column featuring contributors such as Clifford D. Simak, Harry Warner Jr., Donn Brazier, “D.W. Boggs” (later to be known as Redd Boggs), D.B. Thompson, Samuel D. Russell, Edward C. Connor, A.L. “Suddsy” Schwartz, Joe Fortier, Doug Blakely, E. E.
