FARADAY ARTEFACT ELECTRIC STAR BRASS OBJECT MADE BY SAFITI & Co VERY RARE This medal object made of brass wasfound with quit a few WW1 medals and to date know one has any idea actually what it is and what it was used for. On side its inscribed “Safiti & Co, Faraday Magnetic & Electric Works London”, on the other side there is a star emblem with the words “Electric Star Registered”. There’s a place at the top for threading a ribbon or something stronger and it’s held together with bendable pins which some have gone missing, inside are layers of copper and other metals plus webbing as per picture. The only other one of these I know about is held by the National Trust at a Museum in Lanhydrock, Cornwall , they seem to think it could possibly be an electrical hand warmer. This object is very rare & vintage and possibly would be of interest to Museums showing Faraday artefacts or private collectors. The condition is good considering its age, it has been battered at some time as there are a few dents. Size: 5.5cm in lenth, 4cm wide approx 1cm deep
