Farley & Loetscher Antique Bride's Red Cedar Chest DESCRIPTION is an Antique Farley & Loetscher Mfg. Co. Bride's Red Cedar Chest" dating to circa 1900-1920. This great little bride's chest is beautiful and great protection for fine linen and garments. With its great Eastern Red Cedar aroma, the box was made by the Farley & Loetscher Mfg. Company. The Farley & Loetscher Mfg Co was Founded in 1875 by Christian Loetscher, born in Sweden in 1850, w he learned his trade before immigrating to America, along with W.R. Clark, J. Rickerd and A.B. Carlin. They began manufacturing wood products under their partnership until 1877 when the companies name was changed to Farley & Loetscher manufacturing wood products. The bulk of their products were sold to Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, and many southern states. These chest were originally given to young ladies, to keep their fine hand made linens which were added to their hope chest in anticipation of their wedding day. This chest measures 21" long, 10 1/2" from front to back & 9 1/2" high and is great antique condition..... complete with the green felt liners. The chest is marked: "Made by Farley & Loetscher Mfg.
