Very nice rural scenery Artist: The painting is signed with a monogram "KS" for Knud Sinding (1875-1946), a well-listed Danish artist. He was educated at the Royal Art Academy in 1902 and was a pupil of Zahrtmann at the art school of Zarthmann from 1895-97. His impressive colours and bold brushstrokes were not popular in the beginning and Sinding was refused several times at the Royal Art Academy before he was finally accepted. He travelled in Germany and numerous times in Italy ( Firenze, Verona and Venezia).
