This is a wonderful vintage Farnum Nantucket style basket purse. It has a great scrimshaw craving on the top; A scene of two sail ships and a lighthouse; signed Charles CIII on top. It has an extra bonsus ivory or ivory like plaque inside of a whale. The handles and hinges are all in good shape. It measures about 8 3/4 wide X 6 3/4 tall. It has a mellow patina . It is signed by Farnum to Lilly on the bottom. This is not a cheap import but the original made many years ago. The knobs for the bent wood handle are solid not screwed in like the cheap imported ones. T are two tiny holes in the back that do not affect wear or looks at all. I've had this purse for many years and I know whoever is the lucky winner will enjoy it as much as. Don't miss this one.
