5DAY AUCTION Here's a scalloped edge farthing from Worcester, D&H #39. It has King George III on one side and a crown above musical instruments on the other. Edge: Plain edge Appearance: Fortunately the token is more appealing than the scan. Misc: Dalton & Hamer listed it as Scarce, but Very Rare or even Extremely Rare (RR or RRR) is much closer to current reality. This token came out of DNW's Spence Sale, Part I in 2005. No enhancement has been made to change the appearance of the token. As a rule, tokens usually look much better "in the flesh" than their scans. Since this image has been enlarged 400%-500% it shows the fine details as well as exaggerating any irregularities. As a side note, these tokens are called by a number of other names besides Conder tokens (U.S.). In the U.K. the official name is Provincial token coinage of the 18 th Century. Other popular names include condor tokens, penny (1 d.) or half penny (1/2 d.) tokens.
