You are bidding on an original, signed, guaranteed authentic oil painting by Frederick Coffay (F.C.) Yohn. This oil painting was created to illustrate the 1926 edition of the classic book, The Last Days of Pompeii by Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton (Published by Charles Scribner's Sons). One of the photos shows a digitized version of the illustration as it appeared in the book. The caption reads, “Arbaces accuses Glaucus of the murder of Apaecides.” The painting is done on a stretched canvas. It’s in excellent condition – the colors are bright and crisp. The size of the canvas is 28” x 36”. There’s a strong signature on the bottom right hand corner for FC Yohn. This is an amazingly complex painting from a very rare illustrated edition of the classic book. Note that we have a second painting illustration from this book listed on ebay. This is one of several original paintings and drawings by FC Yohn that we'll be posting on ebay. And we have others in our collection. We will provide discounts on multiple purchases and will combine shipping if bought at the same time. Please note that we only ship on Mondays and Fridays.Biographical details: Frederick Coffay Yohn (February 8, 1875–June 6, 1933), often recognized only by his initials, F.
