I believe this to be a Russian FED copy of a Leica II. Although I'm a "camera nut" this is certainly out of my area of expertise. I bought this from the widow of the man who owned it -- according to her since he was in the service in the late 40's and 50's. She said he used it a lot, and you can see it's been very well worn and used. I paid her what I'm sure was way to much for it, simply because I know she needed the money. This was several years ago and it's been sitting in a drawer in my office since. Now that I know I'll never mess with it, it's time to fine it a new home. I don't know a lot about it at all, but it has an unusual plate on the top, engraved with Leica Leitz Wetzlar and a serial number and I've not seen this before in the little I've seen on these Russian copies. Bot I do believe it's a FED, not a Zworki but those of you who collect these I'm sure know a lot more than I do about them and their variations. This camera is currently not working. the shutter does not fire (or I don't know how to work it!). The film advance works, shutter seems to cock as it should, but when released it Focus and rangefinder work, and aperture operates as it should. Lens retracts/extends and locks in place as it should.
