This is an old Federal Jr. crystal radio receiver dating back to 1921. This is a very early and quality made set with metal casing and large vertical detexctor assembly. The set measures approx. 8" wide x 8.5" tall x 5" deep. The set is tuned by a large inner tuning coil actuated by dual tuning levers-one on each side of the metal housing. These levers move individual sliders across the coil. Unlike other slider tuned crystal sets, the Federal Jr. makes very positive contact with the coil which is held rigidly in place by four metal brackets. Lots of quality in the manufacture of this set. Most of these sets are found with lots of scratches in the black finish and peeling paint. This one is extremely clean and is an excellent example of this classic set which truly deserves a place in every radio collection. T is one tiny 1/4"scratch on the bakelite top panel and a several retouched spots in the finish but this set literally gleams. Both the crystal and catswhisker are intact. T are binding posts for attaching antenna ( one for long, another for short antenna), ground and earphones. This set is functional. Using earphones and a very short antenna, I was easily able to pick up several local stations. This crystal set displays well and will look great in your collection. I have provided pictures of all sides ant the top for you to see for yourself. Don't miss out on this one! Buyer pays shipping. I also accept paypal. Good luck bidding.

Notice to foreign bidders: Bidders outside the U.S must Also, please note that Postal rates have increased and t he US postal service no longer offers Surface Freight / Economy as an option.
