Federal walnut slant-front desk having original solid lid opening to reveal banksof shallow drawers flanking prospect door, all above frame with tier of three graduated drawers, all above molded base raised on flaring French bracket feet,bottom of frame with chalk inscription 1815 and interior drawer inscribed Made this first of May in the year of our lord 1815... Samuel Robbins is my name... Cabbagetown is my station... 1815. (New Jersey, 1815). (Minor replacements). Along with letter stating that the desk originally belonged to Mme. Jumel.
