Up for auction is my1975 Fender Precision bass guitar. I have owned this bass for aroundeight years now and was going to be a restoration project, however that hasn't happened and probably never will so I have decided to let it go for someone else to bring back to her former glory. So the good news is that it appears to be all original and complete with a couple of exceptions (see below). The neck code, pot codes and pickup codes all suggest a mid seventies manufacture. The neck is wonderfully played in and feels fast and smooth in the hand. To my ears it sounds like a P bass should and the wiring was professionally renewed last year after it disintegrated whilst replacing the pickup foam. The case is original and there is a hang tag too.And so to the not so good... The bass has obviously been a players bass and I was told by the former owner that it was toured in the seventies by the guy he bought it from and given the fret wear have no reason to doubt that. The frets have been polished, however if you like your action low they will likely need a crown or replacing. This bass has been given a mediocre DIY paint job in matt black to the body and rear of the headstock, unfortunately the body was sanded prior to application and the original colour is unknown, obviously not black! I believe there were only a handful of colours available read more
