WEST COAST HEROES FENDER TELECASTER 1971 Item Description For your consideration is a highly modified 1971 Fender Telecaster. Collectors this guitar is not for you! When I first got this guitar it had an added fret, to add the extra fret the neck had an extra piece of wood added at the 21st fret area. I had the extra fret removed and shaved the extra wood down. The neck is how you see it in the pictures now. The guitar was refretted with jumbo frets. The bottom side of the frets was beveled a little too much. A new slot was made in the nut for the high E string to prevent slippage. The guitar plays great and I have had no issues. The neck was altered at one time, above the nut for a locking string device. The holes were filled and refinished. The headstock was modified for schaller tuners at one time. I had to add Adapter Bushings in order to accommodate the original tuner`s shaft. The tuners and screws are original except the bushings. One of the neck screws stripped out and has been altered to a Phillips type screw to allow the screw to be functional again. The neck pickup pocket was slightly enlarged. The pickups in the guitar are a Tex Mex in the neck and a Seymour Duncan in the bridge. All the electronics, switch plate, 3 way, jack, jack plate, pick guard, and knobs have been updated and are not original. I only think read more
