This is a 1974 Fender Vibro Champ tube amp (amplifier) that was purchased (used) by my brother in 1985. He has had this amp sitting around for the past five or ten years with no guitar to play on it. I have spent the last several months (and $366) acquiring correct vintage parts to get this amp functioning and sounding as new. It has had a complete capacitor kit installed, a complete set of "new old stock" vintage RCA tubes installed (this includes a matched set of 12AX7A tubes), I chose to have the original Fender speaker refurbished by Orange County Speaker Repair in California rather than have a later model non-matching speaker installed. This amp now sounds like new. The cabinet looks excellent with the exception of a few of the chrome plates are missing some chrome. The speaker screen is in great shape with no rips or holes. The interior original tube chart is still on the interior of the cabinet. The power cord is the original Fender cord with the red plug. At some point before 1985 someone cut off the ground prong but left enough of the old prong that I was able to insert a brass pin into the hollow stub and slip a new hollow prong over the stud and solder them together. You have to look close to realize the ground prong is not original. The photos all speak for themselves. The sound you have to hear to believe. The amp will read more
