Fenton Art Glass 8" Iridescent Basket with Mini Figurines. Champagne Iridescent "Morning Glory and Hummingbird" Basket. Features a ribbon-candy crimp featured on this special basket, a remake of a "ribbon-candy" crimp used in the earliest years of the company circa 1907. It is referred to and shown in the "first Twenty-Five Years" book on pages 25, 50 and 82. This basket also has an additional touch of a "Lily Crimp" that is pulled down on either side. Really an unusual and beautiful crimp! The piece is edged with molten Plum glass and then a band of Champagne glass is deftly applied for the handle. Completely handpainted with a "morning Glory and Hummingbird" pattern designed by Martha Reynolds. Includes miniature rooster and bunny. Piece is signed by artist, Linda Everson, and inscribed with signatures of Bill Fenton and George Fenton and reads, "The Ribbon-Candy edge on this basket is similar to pieces made during the first year of glass production in Williamstown, WV circa 1907." Your shipment will include Basket, mini figurines, hang tag and card giving history of crimp and description of basket (authenticated by W.C.Fenton).Perfect condition, never used. Beautiful basket, I know you'll enjoy it!
