Up for auction is beautiful Fenton Colonial Hammered Lamp with a Custard glass shade painted with a scene from the University of Nebraska. The beautiful scene featuring the Mueller Carillon Tower was Handpainted by Beverly Cumberledge. Fenton produced these Lamps for several different colleges and universities during the 1980's and were mostly for University alumni and large benefactors - as you can imagine they are pretty hard to come by!! The custard shade is absolutely beautiful and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dings, fleabites or repairs. T is no paint loss or flaking on the handpainted portion of the shade. The inside clear glass chimney is in excellent condition with no chips cracks or other damage. The hammered part of the base is in good condition with no dents, but the bottom part of the base has some dark spots and shows signs of age. I am not familiar enough with brass to know if that is how it looks as it ages, is that normal patina? I did not attempt to clean it, I just wiped the base with a soft cloth - I would rather leave cleaning to the new owner. I am showing a close-up photo of the area on the base with the most darkened areas. You don't see it unless you are very close - even from a couple of feet it is not noticeable. Regardless, this is a wonderful lamp and not one you'll see up for auction very often. This lamp is gorgeous both off and on! The lamp measures 16 inches tall overall and the shade is 7 inches in diameter at its widest point and is 7 ½ inches high. This beautiful lamp is in great working condition and has no damage to the cord. If t is something you don't see and would like me to email you additional photos, please send me your email address and I will be happy to send them. I am starting this auction with a low beginning bid for this type of Fenton Lamp and am starting with no reserve. Thank you for looking and Happy Bidding! Enjoy!!
