Welcome to our auction today, featuring a very pretty ICS (Ice Cream Shape) bowl made by the Fenton Art Glass Company in their beautiful "Dragon & Lotus " pattern made between 1911 and 1920! Solid colors of "Dragon & Lotus" bowls continued to be made into the Depression Era with the Carnival glass finish! The gorgeous cobalt blue is bright and rich on the collared base back of the bowl and the Carnival finish is stunning on both sides of the bowl with shimmering, vibrant multiple colors of gold, green, purple and blue tones that blend with the cobalt blue glass superbly!!! The bowl is 7-3/4" wide across and the rim is beautifully, vertically scalloped with saw tooth points that are individually sized in height along the rim! The bowl sits elegantly on a 3-1/4" wide collared base and stands sweetly at 2-1/2" at the tallest points of the rim! The bowl does have a shallow, sliver chip on the outer edge of the bowl that shows cobalt blue that is 3/8" long x 3/16" at the widest point... it is dark in the picture and just right from the center portion of the rim. The saw tooth point to left of that one has a much smaller sliver chip on the inner curve of the scallop and the two saw tooth points to the right of the outer edge sliver have two little minor fleabites which. On the other side of the rim, t are an additional three saw tooth points that have little nicks on the top of the scalloped saw tooths which are pretty minor! The inside of the bowl has a typical & normal manufacturing straw/cooling mark which is quite interesting in the center of the bowl that looks has the contours of a piece of straw! Now that I have told you about this beautiful bowl little boo boos, I am very happy to tell you that the bowl otherwise, is in very fine condition and has gorgeous, deep, striking Carnival glass colors that will look fantastic displayed in your Antique and Carnival collection that was made with one of Fenton's old-time, favorite patterns!
