Hand Painted Opal Satin Chessie Box Limited Edition of Only 76 This Fenton Chessie Box #9480 was made for Debbie & Randy Coe this year. Only 76 hand painted ones were produced. The sleeping kitten on the box is a symbol for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. The box is Opal glass with a satin finish. Fenton's Opal is lighter than milk glass but it holds the paint better than milk glass. The kitten was hand painted to resemble a Siamese kitten with gray accents. She has a blue eye, black whiskers and a pink nose. The blanket covering her is blue. This decoration was designed for us by Kim Barley. The box is 8" tall and 4.5" wide. T is a 3.5" round footed base. The Fenton oval silver label is on the side of the box. On the bottom of the box it is marked in black with Coe Exclusive 2007 and hand painted by D. Barbour. It is also embossed with "Chessie by Fenton". In the center is the embossed Fenton logo inside an oval. Please see our other eBay auctions for a signed copy of this book. The Chessie boxes are pictured on pages 95, 104, 124, 147, 162 and 170. Both the top and bottom are in good condition with no staining, scratches, chips or cracks. This piece is new and still in the original box. A nice hard to find piece and would make a good addition to any Fenton, cat, Chessie box or railroad collection. The highest bidder will prepay for the item, including the shipping of $ 15.85 and insurance (optional). If no insurance is taken, we will not be responsible for lost/damage USPS Priority Mail shipments.
