This is a Fenton Art Glass... hand painted and signed... “Mother of Pearl” or “pearlescent”... “Stylized Kitten” Paperweight. It carries two Fenton “maker’s marks”. The imprinted mark in the glass is down low on the right rear hip. It reads... “Fenton U.S.A.”. This mark is not real legible... but it’s there. This “Kitty” also has it’s original Fenton paper label still attached... reading... “Fenton Quality Giftware”. The artist has signed the underside with... “S. Waters”. As pretty as a picture this little Kitten sets just a bit over 5 inches tall... about 2 and 1/2 inches long... 2 inches wide... and appears to be in perfect condition. Never-ending rainbows of color stream across this Iridescent Mother of Pearl finish in what seems to be an endless cascade of colors. With just the slightest change in light... or viewing position... a totally different color scheme seems to appear... to dazzle... tantalize... tease... and delight the eyes!!!... This is from a rather recent “commissioned” run of about a half dozen different glass animal paperweights. In each instance there were only 125 pieces made . For a company like Fenton this is an extremely “short run”!!!!... If uniqueness... beauty... and rarity “tickle your fancy”... then get prepared to be “tickled pink”!!!... Each time I come across a piece of this Fenton glassware..
