Up for auction this week is a GORGEOUS Green Opalescent Coin Dot Lamp. The Green Coin Dot Decanter Bottle shaped font was produced by Fenton Glass. I'm not sure of the actual manufacturer of the lamp itself, but the font (as a vase) is shown in John Walk's "Fenton Rarities, 1940 - 1985" Book on Page 44, and it is suggested t that it may have been a special order for H.A. Framburg Company of Chicago. Several of this shaped lamp comes up on Ebay, but in white or a dark honeysuckle. I have never seen one in the Green Coin Dot. This is a gorgeous lamp, and is in working order. I have shots of it with the bulb on and off. Only the top portion lights, t is no bulb in the bottom font. I doubt the shade is original to this, but it does fit nicely and is the shade we purchased it with years ago. I've done research on this to try and locate or at least find out what the shade should have been, and have come up empty. We've just used it as shown, and it still makes for a nice lamp. The shade is a thin Milk Glass, that is 7" tall and 8" wide with the single ruffle along the top edge. It is in great shape, no nicks, chips, cracks, fractures or repairs. The bottom edge that sits down in the fitter ring is rough, but was made that way, as many vintage shades are rough along the bottom edge. T are no signs of damage or chipping. The lamp itself is also in great shape. I find no nicks, chips, cracks, fractures, repairs or discolorations. T is a line running through the coin dot pattern, much like a straw mark that you would find on hobnail. It was done in the manufacture of the piece, and in no way detracts from the beauty of it. I only mention for complete accuracy and no surprises when you open the box, should you be the lucky winner of the lovely lamp. The lamp also includes a clear glass hurricane shade/chimney that surrounds the bulb, and it's in good shape as well. The lamp, fully assembled, stands 22" tall from base to top of the clear glass chimney. It's 18-1/2" tall to the top of the white glass, should you not use the chimney. The Green Coin Dot Font is the decanter-shaped vase and is 10" tall, with the body being about 5-1/2" wide at the widest point. The base of the lamp appears to be brass and is 5-1/2" wide. The metal, I believe is brass, and is in good shape for the age. T is some minor discoloration from years of wear and handling, but nothing excessive for it's age. I have up close up photo's of both the bottom and the middle for you to view the condition. I have explained everything that I can think of, if you should have any questions, or would like anything clarified, please do not hesitate to ask questions. Please be sure to ask all questions prior to bidding. We have set a reserve on this item to protect some of our investment in the lamp. I think you will find the reserve fair, especially considering the market these days. We would ask that you not inquire of the reserve price, as we won't disclose it. We feel that gives an unfair advantage over those that don't ask, and we would like to keep this as fair for everybody as possible. Also, this is a quality and harder to find piece, a very nice addition to a collection. Please, serious bidders only. We will be listing two (2) other lamps this evening under separate auctions, and hope you will take a moment to check them out as well. We will have an L.G. Wright Moss Rose Lamp, and a Brand New Lotus Mist Burmese lamp from the 2004 Connoisseur Collection, the "Rose Nectar" handpainted design. As for shipping, the lamp weighs just about 5 pounds, UNpacked. I have the shipping calculator set for 6 - 7 pounds to allow for proper packing materials to assure a safe arrival to your home. It will likely weigh over 6 pounds packed and ready to ship. If you put in your zip code, you should have an accurate shipping cost on this piece. Thanks for taking your time to look at this lovely and impressive Lamp, and if you have a moment, I hope you will check out ou...
