You are bidding on a beautiful signed ivory egg on pedestal that was hand painted by FENTON artist, Louise Piper. The front of this lovely egg features pink Sept. aster flowers that were then overpainted with clear frosted paint. The back of the egg features a single pink aster with the clear frosted overlay. The pedestal features a pink frosted ring around the base of the egg and around the base of the pedestal. The egg measures 3 1/2" tall including the base and is 1 3/4" in diameter across the bottom of the base. The bottom of this lovely egg is signed, "Fenton" "Louise Piper May 1971." I cannot find a manufacturer's mark on this piece. Louise Piper joined THE FENTON ART GLASS COMPANY in 1968 and is credited with saving the decorating department. She created a hand painted floral motif called, "Violets In Snow." This piece is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. The paint is completely intact. This would make a wonderful addition to your collection or as a gift for someone special in your life. On April 22, 2007, I attended an auction of some of Louise Piper's personal collection. Many of these pieces were one of a kind and had never been offered to the public before. I was able to purchase some of these beautiful treasures and will be offering some at auction in the coming weeks. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED.
