Welcome! This is an amethyst carnival swan covered dish produced by Fenton for LEVAY in 2004. According to David Doty's Carnival Glass site, this was originally a Westmoreland mold, which has been owned by Gary & Dodi Levi of Levay Glass since 1984. But what has me confused is that Doty says Mosser glass made these in 2004 but this one is DEFINITELY made by FENTON . If you will look at the last picture, you will see that the underside of the lid is embossed with a script "F" for Fenton with the number "0" down on the right side. Fenton uses a script "F" to indicate that the mold they used to make the glass was from another glass company originally. Doty goes on to say that one sold on eBay in 2004 for $191 and another brought $110. Have any been sold since then?? It's anybody's guess. No chips or cracks, in mint condition. Possibly a little nick down under the bowl along a ridge but it was t before they sprayed it with the hot metallic salts because the iridescence covers that little spot. Sometimes molds don't fill perfectly and handmade glass always has imperfections. It is signed "Levay, 28/100" to indicate this limited edition of 100 and that this one is #28. It also has the year, 04, engraved as seen in the second to last picture. I am offering this without reserve! So bid to WIN a RARE piece of glass! Height = 5 7/8" Width = 9 5/8" (all sizes approximate) This is a large dish and weighs a little over 3 pounds itself. Insurance is recommended but not required.
