This auction is for a rare 14 1/4 Inch Vasa Murrhina Autumn Orange Vase, made by the Fenton Art Glass Company between 1965 and 1968. This item is pre-makers mark, but the Vasa Murrhina Line is pictured and described in "The Big Book of Fenton Glass 1940 - 1970", by John Walk, on pages 169 - 170. To make this type of vase, the maker first gathers a ball of Opal Glass, rolls it in Frit (small pieces of crushed glass) and then gathers a layer of crystal over it. It was then blown and stretched and blown into a mold for shaping. Scarce pieces are the pitcher, square vase, the pinch vase, the 11 Inch Vase and the 14 INCH VASE, in any color. This vase is actually 14 1/2 inche tall and is 5 1/2 inches across. Beautiful blend of tan, brown, white, yellow and orange....with small bits of silver foil flecks. This vase is in excellent condition......no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. This is a beautiful, limited vase. Only made by fenton for 4 years....not made by fenton in almost 40 years. Please email early with any questions. Several shipping options will be offered. Shipping insurance would be required. Great addition to any fenton glass collection......great gift item for that special collector in your life.
