Offered for sale in this auction is a wonderful vaseline opalescent epergne with crystal crest featuring a straight center horn or cone and three smaller curved horns. This epergne was made by Fenton for the L. G. Wright Glass Company during the 1940s and 1950s. The mould was made in the 1940s by Joe Weishar's Island Mould and Machine Co. for the Wright Company. The horns/cones are mounted in a clear glass fitting that attaches around a metal peg in the base. Height to the tallest point is approximately 17 inches, and diameter of the base is approximately 12 inches. Unfortunately t is a chip to one of the clear glass fittings. The fitting is made of thick glass, so the cone is in no danger of breaking the fitting when the epegne is being displayed. I would remove the cone, as well as the others, before moving the epergne. The epergne can be turned so the chip is not visible. I am not sure if this can be repaired as I have never had the piece to a glass repairer. Also, the center cone has a tiny flake on the end as shown. These large epergnes sold by Wright are hard to find, and this is a very impressive piece sure to please! Modest reserve to protect investment. PAYMENT TERMS: Please email me with any questions before placing your bid. I accept money orders, personal checks and credit cards. I am PayPal verified.
