Offered in auction is a rare 5 piece epergne set manufactured by Fenton Art Glass in vintage "Velva Rose" glass. Fenton introduced an assortment of items in pink stretch glass in 1980 using original formulas. The assortment was made to celebrate Fenton Art Glass 75th anniversary. Currently all these hard to find items are highly sought by discriminating Fenton or stretch glass collectors. A selection of vintage molds were taken to produce various items in stretch iridescent glass. Among those items was the magnificent 5 piece epergne set offered in this auction. The older set consists of a tall center lily or horn and three smaller curved ones that fit into a generous sized bowl. The tall center horn measures approx. 12 1/4 inches tall, with an opening of approx. 5 inches. The three smaller curved horns that fit around the tall center one, each measure approx. 9 1/4 inches to the tallest portion by 4 1/2 inches at the opening taken at widest point. The hefty large bowl measures approx 11 1/2 inches across the top. It measures approx 4 1/4 to the tallest portion of the crimped edge. The base measures approx. 5 1/2 across the underside. T is a Fenton inside an oval signature and 75th embossed into the glass. It still has a Fenton sticker. The magnificent set displays vibrant metallic hues and t is no discoloration evidenced. It is in excellent condition being free from chips, breaks, cracks or repairs. Complete your Fenton 75th anniversary collection. Add this rare vintage item to your set, or start one.
