We are pleased to be offering this outstanding American Empire Rosewood Sewing Stand to you today. Dating from around the 1850s to 1860s, this piece features a rectangular hinged lid with concave molded top that opens to reveal a compartmented interior and a mirror on the inside of the lid itself. A decorative molding wraps around the outside of the case, and t is also a single drawer that provides more storage alternatives. The serpentine molded trestle base is shapely and attractive, and is joined together with a shaped medial stretcher. T are several old repairs to the piece, including to the edges of the lid and to the end supports and legs, please see pictures. This piece was refinished a while ago, and will be a great gift for any sewing enthusiast or seamstress!! The mirror is in good condition, with minor age marks throughout.
