WHAT A LOVELY ANTIQUE LARGE FISH SLICE! IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And Victorian in date too. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely solid silver large fish slice of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. It is assayed in London and dated 1845 (year letter k) and has a maker's mark for premier flatware maker of the period George W Adams (Chawner & Co)-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 56. This is a lovely early Victorian lot and a must have. A really delightful large piece! The length is simply huge at 12.25 inches. This lovely spoon is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Pattern is FIDDLE AND THREAD double struck. This is a popular and highly sought after pattern and seldom seen nowadays as most flatware has been melted this past year due to the sky high price of the metal. Weight of actual silver is a sublime 201 grams (6.46 troy ounces),this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is pristine and it is of museum quality and condition. The blade is of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim and tip.The piercing is flawless likewise. It is engraved with a quite wondrous serpent coronet crest and always has been, definitely no erasures either. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver, please do have a look. A truly beautiful and most wonderful lot. Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular and hard to come by pattern. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND,DINE IN REAL STYLE!
