A Fidelity Coronet Transistor Six radio in good condition and working order. The Fidelity Coronet was the first British made pocket portable radio to be priced at under £10. This one is complete with the original plastic carrying case (which is actually just a sleeve that slides on to the radio). These radios have a rather brittle plastic cabinet and I have never seen one without some damage. Two small tabs that retain the back at one end are missing and there is a small piece missing at the edge of the back (please see picture). Otherwise it is in good condition, with only some slight wear to the gold finish over the loudspeaker grille and around the unusual flush-fitted control knobs (operated by pressing a finger on them and then turning the control). The Coronet is a 2-waveband receiver, fully tuneable over the MW, plus a pre-set LW (originally for the old BBC Light Programme on 1500m). The LW position is at the extreme end of the tuning capacitor. It is working on both bands. The radio takes a 9 volt PP3 type transistor battery, but some modern ones are too big to fit inside the cabinet. Battery is not included. I am always happy to answer questions and can send further pictures by email if required. Shipping: Postage is shown for the UK only but I will ship worldwide.
