Figurine handcrafted of mammoth tusk This is a figurine handmade in Yakutsk Russia from masters of permafrost -preserved mammoth tusk . It is unique gift from Yakutsk-the Great Siberian land. Size is (4/4sm-1.6/1.6 inch) What is Mammoth Ivory? Mammoth tusk ivory (fossil ivory) comes from the two modified upper incisors of extinct mammoth. Mammoth Ivory (fossil ivory) or Mastodon Ivory is fossilized from an extinct mammal which was called woolly mammoth. The Woolly Mammoth Mammuthus primigenius has been extinct for at least 10,000 years. They originated in Alaska and Russia . Their now fossilized Ivory tusks are a very rare and precious material, buried deep within the permafrost. The Mammoth has a rich historical and antique value.
