The Republic of Fiji has presented a new silver coin dedicated to these preternatural beings, commonly believed to be reanimated corpses sucking the blood of sleeping people at night. Most of people even believe that the victim of a vampire either dies or becomes a vampire too. Represented on the obverse of this oval-shaped vampire coin, there is the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. There are also the inscriptions indicating the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin, the name of the issuing country and the issuing year. The upper part of the coin contains an extraordinary glass insert featuring a vampire’s castle. The reverse of the silver coin contains the image of a creepy vampire and the same glass insert as the obverse does. The vampire is one of the most enduring legends of all time and there would seem to be a version of this myth in almost every culture in the world.
