FILARMÓNICA "MEDALLÓN TAURINO" STRAIGHT RAZOR MADE IN SPAIN
We offer for auction a straight razor; from the prestigious spanish brand Filarmónica, "Medallón Taurino" (Bullfighting Medallion) model. The blade and shank have been made out of high carbon steel, the scales are black colour plastic. It is difficult to date, but I'd venture to say ca. 1965.
On the blade is engraved on a golden wash a bullfighting scene, with a toreador and a charging bull; at left, the word "Capote" (bullfighter's cape); at right, the lyre, monogram of Filarmónica. At the shank it reads "13- Filarmónica- Medallón Taurino- José Monserrat Pou", and the lyre again. The razor weights 48 g., scales included. The blade has a round point and its width is 20 mm: its measures accord to a 6/8'' razor.
This razor is new old stock: it remained unsold and is in perfect, absolutely mint condition , as can be seen in the pictures. With the razor is included its original light yellow cardboard box with a red lid; in mint condition, and the original wrapping plastic bag. The razor was unwrapped only to take the photos.
I think that it is a very interesting piece for collect, and also, if desired, for using it. I think it is perfectly ready for that, perhaps it may need only a minimal stropping work.
