This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on a very elegant Period Victorian Sofa Couch that probably dates to around the 1860's. It is quite unique in design with a double high back serpentine seat back with a deep low center. It is all framed in exposed hand carved walnut that is just superb. It is a long sofa measuring 75" long and is 34" in depth fro front to back. The highest point of the back is 36.5" high. Both sides are very ornately carved and swoop down to a low craved center crest that is 27.5" high. The seat back slopes back to make the seating area very large. The legs are also very ornately carved with cabriole curled legs and feet. Not sure if the fabric on it is original or not. Prob not but very old. It is in great condition and is very sound and sturdy. It needs only to be reupholstered and will be a gorgeous piece of furniture. It is certainly one of the nice unique sofa that I have found.If you have a room with true Period Victorian decor, this will be a wonderful addition to you collection. It will be selling with an opening bid of $5 as do almost all of our auctions, with no reserve price set. Any bid can win!
