FINE 1890s Antique Vintage Figural Meerschaum Hand Pipe. This pipe is on consignment; I am selling it for a private collector. Pipe is 7.5" long (19cm) and 3.5" tall (9cm)! The huge luxurious amber mouthpiece is almost .75" WIDE and the Pipe Chest measures 9" across (23cm). This figural pipe is a premium quality meerschaum pipe! Carved by an "Old Master", pipes of this SIZE and CLASS are desired by Pipe Museums and are truly RARE. In my own collection I certainly have had some fine figural "hand" pipes but this is the daddy pipe. Its "treasure chest" style holding case speaks for itself! The pipe has a terrific fiery patina and the golden colored amber mouthpiece is marbled. This absolute GEM of a pipe was obviously cherished by its antique owner and was handled with utmost care for all those years. Just a flake or two on the amber mouthpiece at the shank - otherwise the entire pipe is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and has NO chips, cracks, or repairs!!! The mouthpiece was a little loose and thread has been used to form a tight fit at the screw.
