Very fine, antique American, flame mahogany, Empire dropleaf library/sofa table, circa 1840 Very fine, antique, American Empire, mahogany library/sofa table, circa 1840. The table having two dropleaves supported by pull out lopers, to each end is a drawer, all with handcut dovetails, secondary woods are white pine. The table stands on a round turned pedestal ending in a rosette cap, the base is quatrefoil in shape and terminates to four compressed bun feet with the original brass castors. Condition is excellent, original finish, no alterations or damage, dimensions; 29.5" tall x 48" long x 44" wide with leaves up x 22" wide when down, a very desirable antique American Empire Library table circa 1840.
