Unquestionably, this is one of the best antique, early 20th century Art Nouveau frames I've come across. Original finish, original glass, and patina that is impossible to get from a new frame. It measures 17" x 21" in the rear rabbeted dimensions which means it will hold artwork that size. It measures 25" x 35" overall. The overall condition is very good with only minor hairline cracks in the corners (see photos) and one inner corner might, and I say might because it is so small and hard to distinguish that it could be original--a small missing piece of gesso near the liner. The finish is consistent so I wonder if it was simply the mold. I've had this awhile and just noticed it when doing the photographs. In my opinion it does not detract from the frame at all, but I always like to note anything that might be objectionable to a purist. This really is a fantastic frame and ones this good are just getting nearly impossible to find (at least for me). Would be perfect for an oil painting or a nice early 20th century watercolor. I have added an additional photograph of the frame taken with a flash which shows more of the fabulous detail of this frame. Hope this is helpful. I mismeasured the frame and it is actually 17" x 26" in the rear rabbet. Sorry for this blunder on my part.
