As most Windsor chairs, it is made of a variety of woods and the wood has a fine, rich aged patina. It has a rich, original finish and would make a beautiful addition to country decor and stand beautifully alongside other Windsor chairs. It would look terrific at fireside ... in a bedroom, kitchen or just about anyw in your home. This is signed and has its original tag on the base (see photo). The tag says "Myers, Minott & Company", which was a retailer and "B.& S. Co" which was the maker. We're pretty familiar with most of the major makers of Windsors but this maker is unknown to us and our research has been unable to turn up any information on this maker. (we'd welcome your emails if you're familiar with these initials or this label). Age (ca) c1920s Dimensions 16" wide X 26 " deep X 32" High Condition Good original condition. Sturdy with no repairs and no damage. Some finish wear is commensurate with age and use -- Windsors are supposed to have finish wear! It comes with the territory! Provenance This item is from a lovely old sprawling waterfront Victorian home on Long Island's north shore. Overlooking one of Long Island's exquisite deep water harbors, the serenity of the view from this home was only rivaled by their treasures inside ... from American and English 18th and 19th century antiques to French Country to Arts & Crafts items, this huge 12 room home had it all! The pieces from this estate are "fresh" to the market, having just come from the home of its owners for a generation or more. Please scroll down for more photos and any of them.
