Fine and large, antique, Chinese lacquer writing box with gold decoration on black lacquer, circa 1850.

Very nice quality and finely decorated large antique Chinese lacquer writing box. This box has a shaped top that lifts up to expose a storage well, below this is a drawer that has a fitted inteior, including pen rest and storage compartment. The box is richly decorated in gold throughout, depicting Chinese noble-men in a garden setting. The box stands on four carved feet, to each end is a bronze handle, condition is excellent, no damage, the gilded decoration is very good, a little rubbed to the top which is very common. A large box at 14.5" wide x 11" deep x 6" tall. This is one of a number of fine oriental antiques I am selling this week, please look at my other auctions.
