20th GERMAN/AUSTRIAN CRYSTAL TANKARD SCARCE

HAND ETCHED FOREST SCENE with LARGE STAG

I have come up with another delightful Collectible surprise for you to get excited about. My wife discovered this fabulous ORIGINAL HAND ETCHED CRYSTAL STEIN in a small Antiques shop in NICE, FRANCE, on Avenue de Suede She was also looking for a silk scarf signed by LOUIS VUITTON, and found just what she wanted. My wife was very fond of hand cut and etched crystal items in any shape or color. She loved this beautifully hand etched forest scene with a lively running and jumping STAG with a full rack of HORNS, and purchased it for her own collection. It has a great hinged lid with a wonderful long thumb pull and a fine tall DOME riseing to an erect finial to the top. The Pewter has retained it's untouched ORIGINAL PATINA and is a joy to see.

This TANKARD is very heavy, it weighs 2 pounds 1.5 ozs. It has a strong shaped crystal hand-hold to the Stein. It is slightly tapered to the top. T are 7 equal flattened panels to the outside on which the forest scene is etched. To the top is further engraved and underlined, the capacity of this Stein 0.5L T is a center mark on the base which I am no able to decifer. T are also a few small rubbing marks on the base from movements as it was displayed. This Tankard is pristine for its age, and a true delight for the experienced cut glass collector. The size is 6.25" to the top of the crystal, 8.5" to the top of the Pewter Finial, and 3.6" in diameterr to the base
