Album Fine Chinese White Jade Snuff Bottle of Very Even Color. This magnificent snuff bottle is very white and translucent in color with excellent low relief carving. The insects, lotus flowers and leaves are very naturalistic. The veining in the leaves is raised, not incised, and the leaves seem to undulate in the breeze. Their form is especially beautiful in profile as the garden design appears to be above the bottle and wrapped around it. The lotus blooms are artistically carved with dimensional petals and minute detail to the stamens and stems. The finest details such as the bugs legs and antennea are realistic. This is a supurb carving by a true master of the jade stone. The circular bottle has a raised foot, tapered neck and a carved green agate stopper. It is well hollowed and has a fine old polish. Circa 18th to 19th century.

Height: 6.8 cm, Diameter: 3.7 cm.

Condition is very good. Excellent carving. High quality jade.
